Creating a strong foundation is the root of Heather Anderson’s company, and it’s also her business philosophy. DryZone, which Anderson co-owns with her husband Bill, specializes in basement and garage repair, crawlspace waterproofing, concrete coatings and other foundational fixes. “When you see us, something is broken in your home,” Anderson jokes.
But Anderson built the company around a solid philosophy of treating employees like family. “We have a warm-sweater mantra,” she says. “We wrap around our employees so they feel supported and comforted. We built a business that I’m proud of and my employees are proud to work for.”
Established in 2006, DryZone now has 42 employees and services the Delmarva Peninsula, Baltimore, greater Washington, D.C., and Maryland’s western shore. DryZone’s business has nearly doubled since mid-March. “Because of COVID, everyone is at home with their house’s problems and wants them fixed,” Anderson says.
