2021 Women in Business Luncheons

Meet the women in Delaware Today‘s December issue Women in Business editorial feature. In addition to recognizing the accomplishments of the 2021 honorees, each luncheon will feature an inspiring keynote.

Kaisha Askins Blackstone, will present the Upstate Keynote. Kaisha has been a touring background singer for Billboard topping artists and is an accomplished business woman specializing in music and media publishing, branding, and finance in the music business. She is the Founder & CFO of BASSic Black Entertainment.

Katey Evans, will present the Downstate Keynote.  Evans appeared on the ABC’s critically acclaimed, Emmy nominated television show “Shark Tank,” in Seasons 11 and 12. During her first appearance, Evans landed a $125,000 investment deal from now-partner Lori Greiner. Katey is Co-Founder of The Frozen Farmer, brand that is on the shelf in nearly 9,000 grocery retail locations in every state in the U.S.

Kaisha Askins Blackstone

Kaisha Askins Blackstone is the embodiment of the phrase “well rounded musician.” She has been a touring background singer for Billboard topping artists and is an accomplished business woman specializing in music and media publishing, branding, and finance in the music business.

While recording and singing around the world, her desire for business never faded and her strength in cultivating and promoting quality music grew. In 2001, Blackstone launched Ray’s Sister Publishing, LLC, a Music Publishing Administration and Web, Print and Media Branding company. In 2009 Blackstone partnered with her husband, to start BASSic Black Entertainment, LLC (BBE). BBE is a full music service company that provides live music production, connecting artists and musicians, and studio production.

Kaisha’s expansive background keeps her as a sought after resource for the music community and as her core values of faith and family center her, she continues to expand her musical empire.

Katey Evans

An entrepreneur, innovator and the co-founder of The Frozen Farmer, Katey Evans appeared on the ABC’s critically acclaimed, Emmy nominated television show “Shark Tank,” in Seasons 11 and 12. During her first appearance, Evans landed a $125,000 investment deal from now-partner Lori Greiner for her a farm creamery business in Bridgeville, DE.

Evans has grown The Frozen Farmer from the ground up to a brand that is on the shelf in nearly 9,000 grocery retail locations in every state in the U.S.

Katey is a recipient of the 2020 Delaware Business Times 40 Under 40 Awards, a past recipient of a $50,000 USDA Value Added Producer Grant, has earned a Blazing New Trails Award, and has been featured as a speaker at numerous local and national conferences.

Katey is a member of Delaware Women’s Workforce Council, aimed to achieve gender equality in the workplace in the First State and has obtained national certification by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) for The Frozen Farmer. A mother of three, Katey considers her greatest achievement of all is being a mom to her three daughters, Kenna Jo, Kylin Jewel and Kollins July.
